From the outside, this hotel doesn’t particularly look like anything special. Although it’s glowing blue lights do attract attention, it could easily be mistaken for a typical high rise hotel.

However, head inside and you will be amazed.

Located on Connaught Place – the Indian capital’s cultural and consumer hub – The Park is one of several Park Hotels within India’s first luxury boutique hotel collection, with it’s design concept involving the elements of earth, water, fire, air and space.

Originally opened in 1987, the 224 room hotel has recently been updated to incorporate high international style.
The above image shows the lobby, whereby guests encounter a breathtakingly white space filled with curves, curves and more curves! This is my favourite space within the hotel. This plays upon the concepts of movement and transparency, representing the elements of air and space. The white glass facades allow for natural light to flood whilst also offering an aesthetic shield from the outside world. A sheer curtain of glass beads winds towards the marble reception. The white space is broken up by bright and bold pink sculptural sofas and rugs – hot pink is a celebratory colour in India. The neonesque lighting (by British designer Paul Cocksedge) add even more style to this space.

Further images of the hotel can be seen below; it is clear that the entire interior has been well thought out and provides sleek and modern spaces. The hotel has a very elegant and luxurious feel to it, with a range of bold colours being used effectively throughout.

India has never really been a place of interest to me; however, I’m amazed by the interiors of The Park and now eager to see what other inspiring interiors India may have to offer.
